Full size hat with 16.5" brim turned from Shirofugen Cherry (flowering cherry) the band and inside pattern were turned using the Rose Engine lathe while the wood was still wet, finished with Danish Oil and several coats wipe on poly, size 7.5
Another beautiful hat Dave! And the rose engine band puts it over the top! Great innovation; I have not seen that before.
My only comment (and I hope I'm not overstepping) is that I wish the band was a bit more prominent. Maybe a bit of highlight color to the band so the texture is emphasized?

Thank you Will your feedback is greatly appreciated. We did want to colour the band. Alison had suggested using milk paint, I had concerns of bleeding into the finished sides as the band is cut when the wood was wet so is fuzzy and absorbent. I have a few more in the works so will definitely try colouring the next one, cheers Dave
