Three hot air balloons

Balloons are Elm burl, baskets are Black Palm. Two of the balloons have African Blackwood caps.

Suspended on magnets via a brass rod & brass tube.

The balloons are about 6″ tall and around 3-1/4″ diameter.

Dave, these are fantastic! And I admire your choice of woods too. I find black palm pretty unforgiving to work with.

Black palm is one of the worst! But it's perfect for a basket. What ya gonna do...

I do some thin CA coats to try to reduce the splintering. Which is a great combo since CA is another of my dislikes :)

Gonna steal the CA method from you. I only use it for pen finishing most of the time and the bottle ends up drying out. :-)
