Boxwood Pill Silverer.

This is a replica of an antique circa 1600, it was used to apply gold or silver leaf to pills to make them more appealing to the rich.
I would love to see more photos of this. I am not sure what you mean by "used to apply"
Hi Anne, a normal gummed pressed pill would be put in the open cup along with scraps of silver or gold leaf then the top is screwed on and shook. The end result would be a gold pill.
