Maple Platter #567

Maple Platter, 12” x 1-1/2”, walnut oil and walnut oil with wax finish. Beaded rim.
What a beauty David! How did you cut the beads??
Skew to form the bead, spindle gouge to crisp up the transition.
I’ve done a couple like this. Watched Glen Lucas turn a bead on a bowl or platter a couple years ago. I bet I stopped and started the video 10 times to watch the tool presentation on the bead😁!

Russ, I’ll search for it tonight. I didn’t save it but should be able to find it. Glen post a lot of short videos so it may take a little time to find it. As soon as I figured out the tool presentation I went to the shop and turned a bead on a walnut platter before I forgot the process😁
