JB's Box

Done in my favorite combination of Cocobolo and African Blackwood, this box hitched a ride on Santa's sleigh and ended up back in Colorado. Finished with lacquer, it's about 3"w x 2.5"h.

This is wonderful on many fronts. Good form, excellent grain match, beautiful wood, finial with nice shape and proportioned to the box, and outstanding finish. John, you're apparently depriving us of seeing more of your work. Please keep them coming.

Excellent grain orientation on this box. I like the way the growth lines wrap continuously around the form. The finish you used really shows off this piece.
