Spalted Maple w/ Blue Accents

This was a really weird chunk (20 x 20 x 10) of spalted maple that we very punky and rotten in some spots. Where there were holes right through the blank, I filled them with a mixture of dyed epoxy and turquoise, building the layers of time. This piece is about 10" tall and is turned to about 1/8 in thickness.
thanks Don, i really appreciate your support and feed back. to me that's what this is all about...getting your work out to be seen and examined and hopefully you take something you heard and improve. This piece sold at it's first showing, but I'm working on a piece that it shares some characteristics with - will post as soon as it's done - thanks again - Scott
