Costa II. Another sculpture based on the Costa-Hoffman-Meeks minimal surface. The wood is Katalox (aka Mexican Ebony) finished with tung oil and microcrystalline wax. Base is spalted maple burl finished in the same manner. Sculpture is 6'5" x 6.5 " x 3.75" 9" tall on base. Both sculpture and base spent time on the lathe in multiple axes.
