Did it Improve?

Sometimes your first try at a design just doesn't measure up. After a little thought I decided to embellish the embellishments on this twisted vase. You be the judge, did it improve?
Brian, a true comparison is difficult because the photo is taken at a different angle. IMHO, no, it is not an improvement. The additional texture, which is very similar (same?), just seems to muddy up the contrast of the original. Maybe if it was a different texture and/or color that would work better. Just my 2¢! Others' mileage may vary. :)

Thanks Tom. Great comment. I tend to agree with you. Initially I had a different color (shades of red) but it seem to stark a contrast so I added a layer of black to tone it down. It goes to show that continuing to 'work' a piece is not always productive.
