Fire and Ice

Norfolk Pine 6 X 5 1/2.
After turning, the spalting looked like flames so I added a little color to embelish. Under light, it really looks like it's on fire.
Thanks for the comments.

Hal, the piece is turned very thin. The rim is about 1/8in for some stability and is about 1/16th near the bottom. It was soaked overnight in Linseed oil so the fibers were complety saturated. Allow to dry and then buffed with tripoly and then white diamond. Additional coats of oil/poly mix were applied and allowed to dry with buffing between coats untilo there were no dull spots. A finish buff and then waxed.
