Fluted Ash bowl

Finished with Tung oil

I am not sure what variety. It's all over Austin though and the tree is fairly brittle. Usually a large branch will break and cause disease, and soon the tree is taken down. So I'm lucky that it is easy to acquire.

The finish darkened the piece quite a bit. See the new roughout I posted. Same species, raw wood.
