Heart Flush

Heart Flush

Four years ago September 2020 I had open heart surgery for a valve replacement. December 1, 2020 I was on the treadmill in cardiac rehab and pushed too hard and was gone. Two rounds of CPR got me back. Each year since I have taken the group and my two CPR nurses a turning gift on December 1. This year a heart shaped bowl for the group, thanks @David Wyke. @Curt Fuller had posted his lantern ornaments. This gave me the idea to do a heart shape opening in the lanterns. I also have a non turning (laser) gift for my two CPR nurses.
Heartwarming story. Gratitude is an unexpressed virtue, but you are definitely remembering and demonstrating your thankfulness. Bravo on the lanterns.

One question on your technique / process. Did you make the heart shaped cutouts before or after turning the lanterns bodies?

Learning curve. First one turned and drilled, mistake. I cut the hearts with my laser. There is a lot of charring inside the body from the laser. So I turned the outside and drilled the inside for the lantern. Cut the hearts and then drilled the body and the heart shapes fell out. Several coats of red paint on the charring from the laser cutting.
