The inspiration for this piece is from John Keeton. I have been friends with John for quite a few years and admire his turning work. The form is not John’s style. I wanted to show upward lift towards the deer antler. You can be the judge to the shape I made. I may turn another similar one more like John form later to compare. Woods are cherry, hard maple, and African Blackwood.
Super detailing on this piece William. FWIW, the Antler portion seems like an afterthought to my eye because of the contrast between your expert vessel detailing and the lack of attention to the Antler. The piece looks super regardless!
