Let's get off this planet!

Rocket Box (“iota” – #9 in the series). Body and base are Maple burl, fins and finials are dyed maple. Supported on a brass rod.

Stands about 11″ high. Rocket body (with finials) is about 9″ tall and 2-1/4 diameter.

Nose cone (the lid) is attached with magnets.

I was 12 before I stopped having nightmares about Ming the Merciless, and now they're back. Thanks a lot, Dave. :p
 
I guess you could say you have inspired me to try some metal. If I remember that after the new shop is up🥴
The "metal work" on this is pretty basic. Challenge was finding the couplings (left over from another project)- I could picture them but had no idea what to look for. Persistent googling found them - they are model airplane servo linkage parts. Epoxied into the body. That and a brass rod from the hardware store....

BTW that other project was "PCDF C4-T1" - which I did right before my cervical fusion last year. Turned out to match the X-rays pretty well.
