Lidded Jar with a Twist

This 8 and 1/2 inch tall lidded jar was turned from maple with a black gum 'handle' on the lid. The upper section was turned off-center to create the twist. Burn lines and pyrography were added to disguise the separation line. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system. A view of the jar interior is included with the first comment.
Here's a view of the inside of the jar and lid. Did you guess the separation line correctly?
