Maple Bowl

This was one of the consigned bowls I was able to get out of the growth impersonating a burl. I was able to get seven bowls for the client. This one is 13-3/4 x 4-1/2 and the largest I was able to get. Danish oil finish.
Beautiful piece David. The wood is striking. What's your finish on this?

Stunning piece, David! I love T&T DO. When I want a little more gloss, I will burnish in a few thinned coats of T&T Varnish Oil and buff out once cured with cheesecloth. This technique is stunning on walnut.

I’ve looked at the varnish oil but not sure it’s food safe for some of the bowls I make. Not saying it’s not but will need to look a little closer at it.

It is-all T&T finishes are food-safe; it just has a little pine resin in it along with the BLO ;) . You could probably eat a spoonful of it if you wanted to!
