Mulberry Hollow Form with Turquoise Inlay (bark inclusion view)

This chunk of mulberry had been sitting in someone's yard for over a decade and presented a number of challenges while turning it; from rotten wood infested with bugs to spalting to fresh hardwood. I lost several chunks of the darker, rotten top area of the vessel while turning it and had to glue them back in. I used Kingman turquoise to highlight the natural voids formed over the years of decomposition. The vessel is quite heavy owing to its species and also the deep bark inclusion which prevented me from hollowing it too much.
