Recently turned a natural edge bowl from a maple blank I received some time ago from a neighbor. By the time I cut away the cracking and worm-hole defects it was an odd shape that I contemplated wasting an inch or two held in the chuck for a shallow natural edge bowl. Instead I created a natural edge with an ogee curve down into a relatively tall foot. Haven't decided if I like that shape, but I do find it interesting.
The bowl is 6.5" wing-wing, 5" across, and 3.25" tall. Finished with DO, buffed and waxed.
