Nightling

Here's my latest narrative bowl. It's called "Nightling", and is about the myth of Lilith, Adam's first wife (pre Eve). Because she was made from the same earth, she was Adam's equal, which ticked everyone off because she wouldn't be submissive (Go girl!). So she was replaced.

Later, she was burdened with being the cause of unexplainable infant deaths (SIDS) and more. Some stories say she was the serpent in the garden (hiSSS). Ironically, she was escorted out of Eden by 3 angels whose names all start with "S". Gosh I love mythology!

Mark Hall turned the bowl out of local maple. It's got a lovely round bottom for spinning. I hid a heart in the Spalting, because I think that would tickle my girl, Lilith.
