One of my all-time favorite pieces. 12" diameter by 2.5" high, finished with Osmo Polyx and buffed.

That's a really pretty piece of work, Michael. Had to have been a significant challenge to hollow this shape. Really good looking!

That’s a great piece - I can see why it’s one of your favorites. I’ve been trying to figure out hollowing under the extended rim though not there yet. Now that I’m retired I can play with it and hope to get there - the small entry hole and extended flat is a goal of mine.

Thanks for all the comments. It was hollowed through the bottom. The entry hole was about 1.5 inches and plugged with a grain-matched insert. The wall thickness is about a quarter inch.

Was thuis hollowed through the bottom of the piece or the top. If through the top, how far into the vessel and what did you hollow with?

It was hollowed through the bottom. The entry hole was about 1.5 inches and plugged with a grain-matched insert. The wall thickness is about a quarter inch.
