Olive Ash Round Bottom Box

When working with non exotic woods, there tends to be more defects and unique characteristics then exotic wood, some of which are present in this box. Turned from Olive Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) this round bottom box has a few unique features. The shape is slightly taller then my normal round bottom design, and the lid has two bark inclusions that have been filled with CA glue. The grain and color is superb, so I could not waste this wood, even with the defects! Turned, hollowed, and finished with abrasive wax. Size is 2" tall x 1-3/4" diameter. Overall, a not too difficult wood to work with!
