I recently acquired a thread chaser. Chasing threads being a new experience, I was practicing when my wife came in. Of course she was able to give me a new project in an instant. She's a quilter and requested a small box to hold pins when she travels to quilting gatherings.
The box is 2" diameter by 3 3/8" tall. It's made from some spectacularly figured maple I had, with a mesquite burl medallion on the top. Cutting threads in the curly maple was a challenge as it just wanted to tear into dust, but several applications of CA while cutting resolved that issue. The box is finished with DO, buffed and waxed.
