Red Dyed Poplar Pot 5104

This is a poplar pot dyed with water soluble aniline dyes and finished with wipe on poly. It measures 9 1/4 inches in diameter by 8 1/8 inches tall.
Nice from Bruce, I really like the coloring. It seems that you are experimenting with dyes based on your other postings. How do you like using color?

Wow, what a beautiful finish. After you applied the wipe-on poly, do you buff the piece on a wheel or does the hand-buffing bring such a nice shine?

Thanks for the comments. Actually, this piece hasn't been buffed yet.
re coloring: I think it can add a lot to some plain wood and can cover up splotches and such to make something ugly look a lot better. But it can take a lot of experimentation to get something pleasing, and I think a lot of it depends on the nature of the wood. Other pieces I leave alone, because I think it'd be a shame to interfere with Nature.
