Reject revisited–Wall piece

Reject revisited–Wall piece

2019 - Maple turning mounted on a 12”x12” cradled wood panel. Airbrush acrylics and gold pen.

This piece started out as a multi-center & multi-axis turning mounted on a vacuum chuck. I didn’t like the way it turned out so I put it on my ‘reject’ pile. After several months, I decided to cut it into strips and play around with the pieces – with no intention of completing a piece. If I had a plan before cutting it up I could have saved quite a few hours of taping it back together and masking off for each color.
I think your sitting on the piece and then slicing it up yielded a piece that looks great Tom! A reject no more!
