Segmented 'Flying Saucer'

Segmented 'Flying Saucer'

This 8-inch diameter 'flying saucer' was turned from a variety of woods including cherry and maple. The horizontal segmented lines accentuate the saucer-like shape of the small-neck vase. A split-vessel technique was used to turn the interior shape to a 3/16 inch wall after the outer shape was completed.
