Segmented Yarn Bowls with Nostepinnes

Each of these yarn bowls was accompanied by a nostepinne. Nostepinne (or nostepinde) is a Scandinavian word that means “nest-stick.” It is a tool used to wind a center-pull yarn ball.
Nice ensemble Gerry! Is the veneer segmented as well? I love the detailing on the nostepindes, are those burn marks? Excellent work!!

I cheated on the veneer ... jointed the strip and glued the veneer to it before I went to the wedgie sled. That way I could avoid showing any end-grain and maintain my brickwork pattern. Those are burn marks on the nostepinnes.
