Silk Yarn Spindles

These are Silk yarn spindles that I made for the local spinning club. They requested that the spindles weigh in at less than 1.5 oz. The reason is that the less weight the finer the thread that can be spun. These weigh in at between 1.125 and 0.85 oz. the diameter of the weighted end is about 1.125 inches, and they are form 8.5 to 6 inches in length. I sanded them to 1000 grit and buffed with white diamond. there is no finish. A finish could rub off and stain the yarn. From left to right the wood is teak with a purple heart stem, poplar, poplar, mahogany with a quilted maple stem, poplar, maple, and english walnut.
