Sonoran Sunset

Lidded hollow form the base was turned from a heavily checked piece of Cherry. 2-part epoxy with copper metallic flakes was used to fill the cracks. Applied multiple layers of red and yellow dye until I liked the effect. An oval Turritella Fossil Agate was set to cover a knot on the side that had split. The lid was turned from Ambrosia Maple & a found piece of Cholla Cactus was added, for dramatic effect I used ebony & black stains. Clear Gloss finish was applied, multiple coats of spray Lacquer & then buffed.
