Spalted Japanese Maple Bowl

I turned this from a Japanese Maple that had died. I put it in a bag for almost a year to spalt it.
That's gorgeous. You must not be in Florida maple spalts here before it hits the ground. :) I have to watch it so it doesn't get punky.
Used to live in Florida. I put it in a black bag next to the down spout for a year. It was almost too spalted. I had to do a lot of stabilizing. Any longer and it would have been gone.
