A maple sculpture with a lot of surface carving. I watched a James Bond movie "Spectre" which has a large egg- shaped meteorite as part of the story. If you Google "Spectre Meteorite" you can see I didn't try for an exact replica, but more of a general resemblance. I used a Saburrtooth carbide burr in a die grinder for most of the carving. I was pressing pretty hard to cut the deep grooves, and it generated a lot of heat. After about 15 minutes of carving, I looked down and the sawdust at my feet was on fire! 11 inches tall by 5 inches diam
