Spinning Platter

This 12 "decorative platter is made from spalted maple. The hand carved flutes are colored with alcohol based dyes. The circles on the inner ring were carved using a leather punch and painted with iridescent paint.
Nice work Jerry! I really like the transition of the colored flutes to a natural center, it draws the eye in. Did you treat the maple before applying the dye?
