Stormy Weather

This piece of spalted maple is 13.25" at its longest axis and 4.25" thick. A friends property was hit by a micro burst that feld some very large trees, most were not turnable because stress caused them to delaminate. Fortunately, a big maple while staying up let a huge limb break off. There was some rot where it joined the tree and some great spalting.
