The Great Auk

The great Auk. Great auks formed long‑term, largely monogamous pairs: a male and female would reunite on the same breeding ledge year after year, sharing nest‑guarding and chick‑rearing duties. Both of these birds were made from antique bowling pins that are cut apart, reassembled, carved, textured, and dry brush painted.
