Tuliptree Hollow Form

Also known as tulip poplar. Frequently very plain wood, but when you get a crotch piece, the figure is excellent. This piece was colored with red, black and yellow dyes, and an ebonized walnut collar was added. 9.5 inches diameter by 2.75 inches high, finished with oil base poly and buffed. I had some trouble photographing this one due to the reflections.
