Twins ?

These two 12 inch tall vase were turned at the same time on a therming rig. Although they started off with the same shape, some carving, texturing and coloring have given these 'twins' very different personalities.
I appreciate your comments Karl and Frank. My work is a little "twisted", but then who says everything made on a lathe has to be round?
 
This technique is right up your alley Brian! Your love of multi axis turnings has brought you to this place; your pieces have never looked better than these beauties, IMHO!
 
The poplar piece almost demanded some additional color to enhance some very plain grain. I'm finally starting to introduce some of the texturing I learned in the class I tool at Arrowmont from John Jordan and Mark Gardner.
