Yes, the flutes are hand carve. I start with a groove that is routed with a 1/8 end mill, with drill stop collar, in a Foredom flexible shaft machine to control the depth.
A beautiful bowl Paul! The fluting is outstanding; the straight cut along rim, with the foot frames it so nice. That and the beautiful piece of Walnut sure makes it sweet.
@Roberto Ferrer It took a few seconds before I saw the similarities. Amazing amount of carving, I had enough for one piece by the time I was done with mine.
