Buckeye Root Burl, approx 7 inches tall - 5.5 inches wide
thnx Jim ... coming from you that is quite a compliment as I REALLY admire your work. Your eye and style and designs always appeal to me. And you are one of the few to have seen the rooster ... and lived to tell about it. I can tell you first hand that it was quite a challenge to keep it from snapping off during the turning! If you look closely you can see the inclusion at the base of the neck ... I held my breath for a LOOOONG time while that sucker was spinning.
 
Very cool, and love the rooster head! I did a similar shape from a buckeye burl some years ago...but sans the rooster head!
