Wild Olivewood Sun Hat Box

Back to one of my favorite styles, the sun hat box! Turned from a piece of wild grained Olivewood (Olea europaea), this particular piece is larger then the past sun hat boxes I have posted. I also made a few changed to the lid shape. Olivewood is a superb wood to turn, it cuts and sands beautifully, and takes fine details really well. Turned, hollowed, and finished with buffed abrasive wax. Size is 1 7/8" diameter x 1 3/4" tall. If any of you will be attending the OVWG "Turning 2025" Symposium, this piece will be on display in the instant gallery.
