Willow Oak Gavel & Sound Block

This gavel and sound block was presented to the Mayor of Annapolis (MD) during today's (15-Oct-2005) monthly Chesapeake Woodturners meeting. I turned it out of a piece of Willow Oak which was made available to our group by the City of Annapolis. In exchange for numerous large chunks of the tree we turned a number of objects and donated them back to the City.

Gavel: Overall length: 11"
Head: 1 3/4" dia x 4 3/8" long
Sounding Block: 3 9/16" max diameter x 1 3/8" high
