Wingin' It

My first ever attempt at turning a winged piece. This rectangular slab of Walnut measured approximately 14"(L) x 5"(W) x 3" (D), I did not modify the length or the width and kept as much of the depth as possible. Finished with multiple coats of Satin Wipe on Poly. There is a small area on the underside of one of the wings that had a shallow bark inclusion, I inlaid the open area with turquoise granules.
Unique piece David!
Hey, thanks Ethan! The person that handed me the piece of wood asked if I could make her something from it -- she said "surprise me" ... Last year, Rudy Lopez did a demo for our club & he made a square winged bowl - I had been thinking about trying to make one -- so I made this my opportunity for a learning experience.
