Yellow Submarine 2010

This is a whimsicle piece that riffs on the Beatles song. Really reaching for that one. The sycamore "body" is made of layers of veneer glued over an undulating form. The vessel itslef is chechen, hollowed to about 1/8" and the top finial is made from a specialized wood that bends easily to any particular shape and will retail its shape once dry. Pretty cool stuff.
