I've been working on this concept for a while. That is, leaving the log profile as a thin wing and turning a bowl form within it. All comments welcome!
This is one of the largest natural edge bowls i've successfully completed - 15"lx10"wx5"h. Since Acacia is in the same family as Koa, the wood has a very similar glow.
