This hollow form vessel was turned with 1/2" wall thickness. It was then carved with a Fordom and Micromotor tools. After the final shape was achieved the surface was burned with pyrography pen followed by India ink and blue gray colors applied with a dry brush technique. The vessel is 6" tall...

I wanted to try my hand at using copper leaf as a design element, so I carved a small bowl (ginkgo leaves again) and followed some instructions from a YouTube video. All seemed to go well until I applied a poly-acrylic lacquer to protect the copper from tarnishing. That did not do what I wanted...

The outside scallops were created with a jig saw. All other shapes and piercings were done with power carving. The embellishment is fan brushing acrylic paint over black ink. Clear matt enamel final finish. The bottom engraving was by laser. 6 1/2" diameter, 2 1/2" tall.
