This began as a test of embellishments on pine I had. I never use pine so was to be a throwaway. Paints used are acrylics and Metallic Gourd Ink . Finished in Lacquer. Yes I kept it.

This wall vase measures about 7" tall by 5" wide and is mounted to a piece of maple vaneer.

These are some of the vessels I turned from a Norfolk pine tree. The large, 3 piece, vessel, is finished with danish oil. The others with tongue oil. I added extra knots to the tall vessel. The others are natural. Comments welcome. I make no claims to fine photography.

Norfolk Island Pine - 11" diameter, 3" height, celtic design burned and then colored, 1/16" wall thickness, 1/8" bottom to prevent burn through of design. 3 carved feet. Boiled Linseed Oil and wipe on poly.

This piece of Norfolk Island Pine was given to me by our Club Secretary who purchased it at the AAW Symposium in KC. This was the first time I have turned NIP. It was bone dry but still fun to turn. It measures 7" dia. x 7-1/2" tall and the walls are 1/16". Weighs only 6-1/2 OZ.

I had this piece of 4" X 4" Pine in my scrap pile, So I turned a 4" spindle. Then I Had to figure out what to do with it.So I made this table.

One of those classics where someone gives you a "burl" which is not, but turned out to be an interesting piece of pine!

This is a 4"x2.5" burl I cut off a half fallen(as in the top half already fell :p). Only one I've both cut and turned myself, and I'm quite pleased. Finished with high gloss laquer and a bit of steel wool to ease down the shine.
