This 20-inch-tall end table consists of thermed birch legs turned on a lathe and a natural edge slab of elm for the table top. The three birch legs were turned simultaneously on a therming rig, as shown in the first comment. Birch bark does not stand up well to turning so the bark was removed...
This 19-inch-tall table was made with crisscrossed legs that were created on the lathe using a technique known as therming. Woods used were Walnut for the top, Pau Marfin for the legs and Cherry for the center sphere. I used almost every tool in my shop on this. Finish is Watco Oil buffed.
