A different take on thread chasing

That Forstner bit costs as much as a pair of old used chasers from England Ebay. Wonder how he did the female thread?

Apparently the female thread is much much larger. The you dont have to worry about the fit.
What I don't understand is why he used a forstner bit since they are normally made of unhardened carbon steel so an old bench chisel would seam to be a better choice.
The forstner doesn't fit in the nut...
He may have used an ordinary machinists tap for the nut.
