A new AAW chartered club named, Central Arkansas Woodturners, had their first meeting on Jan 15th featuring Dick Sing for an all day demonstration. We obtained our charter in Dec with 8 members, at the end of the Jan meeting we had 36 members. The club is based in Hot Springs, Arkansas and is servicing an area of approximately 60 miles. Due to the long travel some members have to make, we decided to have three hours meetings on the second Saturday of each month. We meet at the Woodworking Shop of the local Community College. The students enjoy free membership in the club and are very interested in woodturning. We are still working on our web site, which is at http:/www.arwoodturner.com. We have two ladies and several members that have little to no experience in turning. We also encourage visitors.
