I have tried to make slimline pens with acrylic blanks. One came out good the other 2 ended up with tear outs. Is this happening because I am using CA glue
I don't know what your experience is but usually when I get tearout on acrylics or plastics it's because the tool isn't sharp enough or I'm forcing the cut by pushing the tool too fast for the speed the lathe is turning. When your cutting plastics correctly it's pretty silent with just shavings coming off. when your forcing the cut it's kind of noise and chips out.
