HI Folks. I am picking up an older (2004 vintage) VL 300 Short Bed lathe soon. It has the control buttons built into the front of the lathe. Does anyone know if I can purchase the magnetic control box and (easily) connect it to the old VL 300? I supect it might be easier to disable the built in controls and use the magnetic box exclusivley as it seems to be used on newer models that come with the box. Thanks, Mike

I don’t have a vicmarc but did take all the controls for my 3520b and put them on a magnetic pendant. In general if you are just looking to move the controls to a magnetic box it should just be a matter of extending the wires, and you can use multi conductor trailer wire for that. If you want to ADD and additional box of controls that takes a lot more thought.
