Just an endorsement for trying the cover story angels of the AAW mag. Fun project from Nick Cook and a nice challenge to all of us at different skill levels. Currently using green holly for the body- - with alchohol soaking/drying and turning the wings out of 8q ash. The added thickness allows me to use a tendon at both ends so the glue block is never necessary. Try it and you will see how quick they can be done. No need to drill all the way thru as the wood removal process will bring you closer and closer to a thin edge of the wings. Great fun and challenge.
Thanks to Nick. Phil
