Here’s one that’s a little different from others I have seen. Built from steel angle from junk pile in the barn, for a Jet 1642-2EVS. The steel “arms†are not slotted, but simply have multiple mounting holes to adjust for various diameter work. Plan to replace old roller skate wheels with some new roller blade wheels.

just a guess or two, to make a less distracting picture or as i do to use as a chip defector.
 
It's cardboard from the lathe box. Thought it would make a better picture, but mainly used when spraying lacquer on workpiece on the lathe. There's another piece that fits under the spindle, and plastic to cover the lathe bed. Probably would be good for turning wet wood too, as one does not want a bunch of crud on the lathe, especially the controller and its heat sink.
